Most loose chalk is sadly packaged in difficult-to-recycle plastic or bags which can only be industrially composted.
But compostable seems good right? Well sadly not, the problem here is they will not break down in home compost and unless they're disposed of at the correct composting site they will end up in landfill or incineration!
We wanted to find a solution to this and prevent more unnecessary plastic from entering the waste system. Our bags are paper recyclable so you can just pop them in your household paper recycling, but they're also home compostable, so if you want to feed your worms you can!

Most packaging that is labelled as "Recyclable" is generally only industrially compostable which means you need to drop of your rubbish at specific bins and then they need to be sent off to recycling sites. If you just chuck it in your home recycling it might just end up at landfill or incineration!

We achieve both an eco-friendly and high-performance product by sourcing our chalk from seawater. Sea water processed chalk is of higher purity than mined chalk and it's much better for the environment.

Seawater processed means our magnesium carbonate (chalk) is extracted out of seawater rather than mined out of the ground. This produces a much higher purity product straight away as there are far fewer contaminants but it's also a much more sustainable and renewable process.

The reason we only do set sizes of bags of loose and bottles of liquid is because this way you get our product at its cheapest we can offer it at. There would also be more waste created per less usable product and we'd have to ship out smaller quantities which again increases carbon due to shipping.
